Come join me for a weekend of fun as you learn to make your very own glass beads!!
In this exciting workshop, you will learn about equipment, tools, materials and safety procedures as we practice manipulating hot glass to form beautiful glass beads. We will cover winding the glass and shaping the beads, as well as, pulling stringer & twisted cane, dot placement and surface design techniques. This is a beginning class, so no experience is necessary, but there is LOTS to be learned even if you already have some beadmaking experience. You will come away from this class with a handful of cool beads that YOU made, an appreciation for this ancient art form, and quite possibly, a new addiction!

There are 6 seats available in this class, so sign up quickly to reserve your seat. You may reserve your seat by e-mailing me at beedldy@msn.com or calling me at 206-419-5272.

  • Deadline for sign up is Friday, May 15th.  A deposit of $100 dollars will be due by Monday, May18th and  will be applied toward the class fee which will be due the first day of class. If,  by chance you have to cancel after the 18th and I can fill your spot, your deposit will be refunded in full.layeredbulletsbluesset2

Back in the Studio

Today was my first day back in the studio since my surgery. It feels good to be back, but a little overwhelming. So much to do; not sure where to start.

I truly know so little about blogs, other than reading ones of interest to me, that I really don’t know all the possiblities before me, nor any of this blog lingo. This shall be a new adventure.

Okaaay…So now what??

My first blog ever. I am assuming this is the box I should be writing in! I…. am a princess beadmaker and jewelry designer. That means I work when I feel like it, which, as you probably have guessed, does not bring in a whole lotta income. No, I am not a brat or spoiled. I just deal with a brain that doesn’t work so swell all the time. The sign of a true artist, yes??!! I am not sure at this point what I am doing here but I will figure it out and hopefully you will be here, waiting with bated breath, for my next prolific entry. Since I have approximate 15 years experience in what I do, maybe I can be of help to you. Maybe you will even want to visit my website and web store and want to buy stuff from me. Since I have been a beadmaking teacher for ten years, you could even pick my brain, if there is anything left of it to pick! Just kiddin’!

I have often wondered WHY people would want to read another’s blog…like, come on, get a life. But it seems now that if a blog contains stuff you are interested in, well then you might just wanna read it.

So feel free to ask questions, get help or even provide suggestions and help of your own.

I am one of those artists that believes that there is enough creativity in the world for everyone to have some and make it their own. Therefore, I have always been ready and willing to share.

As I said, I am new to this blogging stuff so bear with me as I develop my voice here and hopefully be of service and interest to you.

At the end of January, I had knee replacement surgery. OMG….what a horrid experience; one that I NEVER WANT TO GO THROUGH AGAIN!! Other than the deaths of my parents (I know their souls are resting in peace; they were beautiful people and I miss them both dearly) February was the worst month of my life! Toward the end of the month my dearest, sweetest little angel of a dog passed away. He was my wingman and my best friend, so I now I find myself flying solo and with a large hole in my heart. I try to picture him running and jumping and chasing bees and birds; happy and free. And when he gets tired, he goes and sits with his granddogparents, ’cause he knows they will feed him when he begs. That makes me feel a little better and I know his sweet little soul is at peace. So, needless to say, I have had a pretty rough time of it this past month. I have been out of work for awhile and waiting patiently ( or trying to) for my body and my heart to heal, as well as for the energy and motivation to come back, seize me, and get me back to the studio to make beautiful things!

As I said before….why would someone want to read about some stranger’s life and here I am, gushing away! Oh well. Damn interesting, dontchya think?

Anyway, I hope to be back soon with some photos, and some tips for you about this artform. Always feel free to e-mail me or reply if you have questions. Here’s to a lasting new friendship!
